Yangon,August 22 —The Myanmar Narrative Think Tank and Xinhua News Agency signed a cooperation agreement under the Global South Joint Communication Partnership Program at a ceremony held this morning at the Department of Research and Information (Yangon), Kyauktada Township.

Chairman of the Myanmar Narrative Think Tank, U Ko Ko, said the partnership aims to strengthen people-to-people relations, foster deeper mutual understanding among societies, and promote unity, while contributing to peace, prosperity and sustainable development.

Chief of Xinhua’s Yangon Bureau, Mr. Zhang Dongqiang, noted that Myanmar Narrative Think Tank’s inclusion reflects Xinhua’s efforts to work closely with think tanks and media organizations across the Global South to amplify their voices on the international stage and encourage greater unity and self-reliance.

Following the speeches,U Ko Ko and Zhang Dongqiang formally signed the cooperation agreement and exchanged commemorative gifts. The ceremony was attended by officials from the Myanmar Narrative Think Tank, representatives from Xinhua News Agency, and specially invited guests. According to reports, the purpose of this partnership is not only to support Myanmar’s development through cooperation with Global South institutions but also to enhance Myanmar’s international image.
